Dance Class for Dancers Along the Autism Spectrum

When: Saturday, October 1, 2016 - 10:00amSaturday, October 22, 2016 - 10:00amWednesday, November 16, 2016 - 6:00pm

We believe everyone is a dancer.

In partnership with Parsons Dance, The SC Autism Society, and Columbia College, Harbison Theatre will offer three dance classes for dancers along the Autism Spectrum. Experienced dance educator Terrance Henderson will lead the first two fun, pressure-free workshops suitable for dancers of any experience - including no experience at all! - and the final workshop will be facilitated by dancers from Parsons Dance.  Caregivers are welcome to stay as participants or observers and families will be invited back at the end of class for 'show and tell'. Staff members from the SC Autism Society and other educators trained in working with dancers along the Spectrum will also be participating.

Participants in one or more of these workshops will be awarded a certificate of participation ON STAGE at the end of the Parsons Dance Relaxed Performance on Saturday, November 19. We encourage families to take part in as many activities as possible in this series, but there's no requirement to attend all opportunities.

Each workshop is only $5 and is open to dancers 7 years and older. Workshop will take place in the Godbold Center on the campus of Columbia College.

Please be sure to call the Box Office at 803-407-5011 to get your tickets for the Parsons Relaxed Performance on Saturday, November 19th. Every workshop participant will receive a Certificate of Completion on stage!
