The MTC Showoff is more than a talent competition—it's a chance for members of the Midlands Technical College community to take center stage and become part of a production.
Open to MTC students, alumni, faculty, and staff, the annual competition begins with auditions, where performers of all kinds are invited to showcase their talents. From singers and musicians to dancers, comedians, spoken word artists, and unique specialty acts, every audition brings something different to the stage.
Ten finalists are selected to continue their journey, working alongside a local producer and Harbison Theatre's professional staff to develop and elevate their performances. Through mentoring, rehearsals, production support, and promotional content, finalists gain a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create a live theatrical experience. The result is an unforgettable evening of entertainment as finalists perform before a live audience and livestream viewers, competing for the title of Biggest Showoff and a $1,000 grand prize.
Audience members also play a role in the action, casting their votes to help determine the Audience Favorite. Whether you're performing, supporting a finalist, or simply looking for a night of incredible local talent, the MTC Showoff is a celebration of creativity, community, and Maverick spirit.
